NRMB’s 2017 DREAMS | Clean Cut Kid

It’s likely you’ll already have heard of Merseyside’s Clean Cut Kid.

They've caused quite a stir throughout 2016, and their ascent over the coming months is set to be unstoppable.

Clean Cut Kid excel in layered, upbeat and addictive indie. Their debut single ‘Vitamin C’ counts as one of the most euphoric tracks of recent years, while ‘We Used to Be in Love’ is a resilient heartbreak album showing their lyrical versatility. ‘Pick Me Up’ and latest single 'Make Believe’ sound ready to be sung back at the band by thousands of festivalgoers.

Lead vocalists Mike and Evelyn (Clean Cut Kid grew out of the couple’s marriage – definite relationship goals right there) carry every song with their soaring vocals over skilful backing courtesy of the other band members. With an album in the pipeline for next year, expect more catchy goodness from the group and several live dates. They’ve already announced they’ll be rocking Sheffield’s Outlines Festival in March.

It’s worth noting that Clean Cut Kid were handpicked by Liam Fray to open up for Courteeners on their recent tour – following in the footsteps of Blossoms, Circa Waves and DMA’s in that regard. I’d put money on Clean Cut Kid rightly enjoying the same levels of success in 2017.

BEST TRACK: ‘Vitamin C’

CATCH THEM LIVE: Outlines Festival (Sheffield, 3 March 2017) – more live dates TBA
