Yorkshire has never failed to produce its fair share of vibrant, vital acts. Bang Bang Romeo fall into both of these categories.

The quartet describe themselves as a “1960s influenced rock and roll band”, which is evident in their cinematic instrumentation (they could soundtrack whole films to great effect and would already do a killer Bond theme), the grittiness that underpins Bang Bang Romeo’s music and the mesmerising vocals of lead singer Anastasia Walker.
It’s rare that you hear a song that truly blows you away on first listen, but ‘Johannesburg' is one of those tunes. It manages to be soulful and smooth while retaining an absolutely massive feel which builds to a stunning crescendo. The attitude-heavy, menacing ‘Invitation’ and the more emotive ‘Carnival’ are equally impressive.
After storming several festivals this year, 2017 deserves to be the year of Bang Bang Romeo. The success of Blossoms, Catfish and countless others shows there’s an appetite for high quality alternative music that can really connect – Bang Bang Romeo offer that and then some.
