When I was recommended to listen to the new Blossoms Getaway remixes, I was sceptical at first due not ever really listening to their music before, although enjoying most indie bands such as Arctic Monkeys and MGMT, but once I listened through the whole album and listening to the original song, I was very surprised with what I got given.

The first song of the album is remixed be Roosevelt, a dance music artist that gives a chill but slight up beat feeling to you whilst you listen to his music. When listening to this remix, I felt in total bliss as the song played, the slow beat and unusual synths make you feel time is slowing down and the vocals by Tom Ogden really do hit the spot with the psychedelic/chill mood it gives.

The second and third song of the album is remixed by Adesse Versions, who is a British DJ and musician. After listening to half of the song, I felt the vocals were becoming boring and repetitive and the beat itself had no climax to it; by the end of the song it felt overused unfortunately. However, that’s just my opinion, I prefer EDM music to have a rise and drop or a more upbeat feeling to It.

The last remix is done by Zdot & Krunchie, a music producer who has worked with Lady Leshurr in creating The Queen’s Speech 3 and has worked with Krept & Konan with their single 'Got It'. The start of the song gave out a mysterious trap vibe which caught my attention instantly, and once I got through halfway, I was enjoying it thoroughly. Its hip hop beat, the use of the vocals and electronic samples make this a great trap/EDM song, so much so I added to one of my own personal playlists.

I think in order of the best remixes it would go:

1. Roosevelt 2. Zdot & Krunchie 3. Adesse

The Roosevelt Remix taking the spotlight of first place for its great use of the vocals and electronic/chill vibes, Zdot & Krunchie coming in second for its Hip Hop/Trap sound, and in third is Adesse due to the unfortunate, boring repetitiveness of the song.

Overall the Getaway Remix Album is definitely one to listen to as it will catch your attention and your interest of EDM music.

7.5/10
