“The Nation’s Favourite Coffee Shop” Is Costa's famous motto, but do they have the nations favourite songs playing? I went for lunch to find out…

In my opinion, there is no doubt that Costa is at the top of its game, so there was no surprise that my freshly brewed lemon iced tea and panini were gorgeous, although I thought the music was very bland for my taste. The samey, generic background music was nothing special, with heavily instrumental tracks with boring vocals over the top.

There were no songs I recognised – I thought I recognised the third one at first… then realised it was just that THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME! Although I come often to Costa, unfortunately I would not say there were any 'amazing' moments music wise this time - unless you like slow, boring music that sounds like it should have been lost in time but unfortunately Costa found.

Overall, a 9/10 lunch, but 3/10 songs. Poor show Costa, poor show.
